Ludi Saeculares History Ludi Saeculares was the name given to the great Roman games which were held once every century or "saeculum". In the year 17 BC the Games were promoted by Rome's first emperor Augustus and included games, races, theatrical performances, religious ceremonies and sacrifices offered to Roman deities. This great festival was held in Rome and also in other cities
of the Roman Empire. In the archaeological excavations of Bracara Augusta a gaming counter
was found with an inscription "ludi saeculares" that inspired the name of this game you are going
to play.
